anthrocon 07 in pittsburgh, PA!

Just to start the seed germinating:

Anthrocon is one of the largest furry conventions in the country. It takes place in Pittsburgh, PA.
I am moving to Pittsburgh. In fact, I'll be settling there in just about 2 weeks.

Can FurTribe bring it to the table for Anthrocon 07?

You can all have a FREE place to stay on the southside (our house is huge!). We should rent a suite and do it up, full FurTribe style!

Who's with me? So far I have Krispy and Adrian Fox on board....

I too was planning on attending AC in 2007.

Never been before, but may have an official task as part of the con.

Not sure what we can do with a party room, as we can't really bring a whole lot on a plane with us.

Will be great to see you again Morley, missed you at BM.

You can't bring much on a plane, but I have access to a sound system. CDJs, mackies. Can probably rustle up some turntables. I can get fabric/deco, too!

Adrian Fox & I are talking about starting a crew of Death Guild style furries in spikey armor. Causing some trouble. Could be fun... muahahahha....

I am already planning on bringing music to the con....

Need to look into rooms. I know they sell out quick.

Not sure what thier equivelant of "party floor" is like. Do they have self-running room parties like FC tries to have? Or is it possible to get an official con space to do a party? I might be able to drop some FC connections if there are official con spaces available.

I asked the "suites" coordinator, and he says there are strict limits on noise. He said a "small soundsystem" would be the max allowed before running into problems. The suites can hold a party of a dozen people or more, the basic rooms more like 7 or 8 (or, with our mad skillz, a dozen) people. The suites are over twice the cost of basic rooms, so I opted for reserving a standard room.

If you hear of other options, please let me know!

In future years I imagine throwing a party outside the hotel, but that will take far more coordination.

It's gonna be a long couple of weeks for me, but I'm gonna try to do it. Starts out with SF Pride on the 6/23-24 (i may have an official production role there), and the weekend after that, I'm gonna hit up the Rainbow Gathering in the arkansas/texas/oklahomo area until July 4th, then fly over to Pittsburg for AC.

If I do that, maybe I could UPS some stuff to you Morley (fursuit, music, etc), so that I don't have to carry all that to Rainbow with me?

Yes, anything I can do to help you get here!

I'm happy to play host to anyone who can't afford a hotel room, too. Providing I know you, or someone vouches for you :) We have lots of room for folks to crash, and I mean *real beds* not just lumpy couches.

Mail things here, have me pick stuff up for you, etc. Whatever it is, I'm happy to help!

I may well be there, but prefer to stay closer in, at the con hotel if I can afford it. Anyway, I'll look forward to seeing the locals there!

I've gone to three or four ACs before, and find them more "active" than FC, for good and bad. By "active" I mean that people seem more excited to be there, and I meet more people and have more adventures. On the other hand, there's more asshattery by furs who treat the event like a fantasy land where they can be total dickwads.
