does anyone know of either a good pattern pack or a good site that would have instruction in making a pair of satyr styled pants?

Wed, October 4, 2006 - 4:20 PMMy guess is that it is all about the fabric. There is something called furry fleece at Joann's that is thin, but poodle like and cheaper than fake fur.. or you could go with thicker fake fur. Any loose pants pattern cut below the knees should . Then a garland of fake leaves around your waist will cover the transition from fur to skin. Shave and paint your ankles black to be really scary. The muttonchops only add to the total package. -

Mon, October 9, 2006 - 1:06 PMyou can cut apart a pair of sweatpants to make a pattern (thrift store, $3). elastic waist, cut below the knee, elastic at the knee (but not too tight). the tail is short, 4" or so. i wear my satyrpants with knee high sox sometimes (soccer sox work well) if its cold.
you might think about adding pockets to the pants. you might think they look odd at furst, but pockets are very handy. the furr sort of hides the pockets anyway.
depending on how anatomically realistic you want to be in the front, you can add a fly (button, velcro or zipper). if you use a zipper, buy the kind made for parkas (big wide plastic teeth that dont get caught in the furrs as easily).
