I'm building something that requires me to glue upholstery-type foam together.. does anyone know what kind of glue I should use? I know some glues eat foams.

I believeSuper 77 is the one usually recommended. I personally often use hot glue, which works well enough when all you need is to just tack it in place.

The Super 77 is a 3M product. It is an aerosol contact adhesive. Hardware stores, and craft stores. You spray both sides with a light coat, let it set for a minute or so, then place the two pieces together with precision....because they wont come back apart again, and you dont get a second chance.

Beware: It melts a lot of synthetic things, so do a small test of materials compatibility before you use it on something you've out a lot of time into!

I know that this is a super late response, but...

when I bought a bunch of foam, the people at the counter supplied me with a can of Keyston #4011 General Purpose Spray Adhesive. It comes in a large yellow can with black writing. When sprayed out, it creates a webbing of glue. It's fairly sticky, but after several years of hard use, it finally gave way. I'm not sure how Super77 fares, but I'm sure it will be strong enough.

The best glue to use for foam rubber is Liquid Nails. You can find it at any lumber store.
Two of my costume has held together now for over 10 years, with lots of heavy duty usage.
